Lunch Box Notes for the Kids: Christmas Edition

Christmas is my favourite holiday of the year. The winter break countdown has started in my home as I am sure it has for many. It has been a great year, but I admit I feel ready to hang up the towel and enjoy these last slower moments of 2025 with the family. If you’re in the same boat as me: just hang in there, we only have two weeks (ish) left! What better way to inject some extra holiday cheer and excitement into the routine by sending the kids to school with some Christmas lunch notes.

They will look forward to these daily, have so much fun sharing them with their friends, and you will get a good laugh out of them too, I promise.

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” – Buddy the Elf (Elf, 2003)

For Mr & Mrs Claus’ Senior Staff

Q: What does December have that no other month has?

A: The letter “D”

Q: A man crossed a river without using a bridge or a boat, without getting wet! How is this possible?

A: It was frozen

Q: How did the gingerbread man make his bed?

A: With a cookie sheet

How Do I Do It?

I make this really easy on myself and write out these notes across two sticky-notes. I write the joke or riddle on the top one, the answer on the bottom one, and keep those two connected. That way, they stick on top of the lunch box and the kids can flip them up to reveal the hidden answer. Or, I’ll write the joke on one side, and the answer on the other side. Simple! Here is a video example.
